Aleppo Map Poster & Print
Aleppo is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, and its map still revolves around a single raised point: the Citadel, a fortress on a large, partly artificial mound in the middle of the old city. From that oval, the historic lanes spread outward in an irregular pattern, dense and inward-looking, very different from the planned districts that surround them.
West of the Citadel lies the long covered market, Al-Madina Souq, a network of vaulted passages that formed one of the largest historic markets anywhere. The Great Mosque of Aleppo stands nearby. The Ancient City of Aleppo is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and much of it was badly damaged during the Syrian war; restoration has since been under way in parts.
Beyond the old walls the city grew in all directions, with newer quarters, broad avenues and public parks, and the small Queiq River running through its western side. An Aleppo map poster shows the full sweep of the city, from the Citadel's oval to the outer districts, as a record of a place many people hold close.

Queiq River
A modest river crossing the western side of the city, with parks along its course and newer districts laid out on either bank.

དོན་དག་ཡོད་པའི་ས་ཁྲ།
For Syrians around the world, Aleppo is family, memory and a city still being rebuilt. A map does not need words to say this; the Citadel and the old lanes around it are recognisable to anyone who has lived there.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with a family name or a neighbourhood, and keep the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and order a matte print with an optional wooden frame or download the files.
