Town grid
The urban area is laid out in a regular pattern of blocks, a clear geometric shape at the centre of an otherwise sparse map.

Arame Map Poster & Print
Arame is a municipality in the interior of Maranhão, in north-eastern Brazil. The region lies in the transition between the Amazon and the drier landscapes further east, with a mix of forest, pasture and farmland spread across a wide, lightly populated area.
The town itself is compact. From above, it forms a simple grid of streets on fairly level ground, with a central area where the main roads meet and a looser fringe of houses and plots towards the edges.
Beyond the town, the map opens up considerably. Unpaved roads and tracks run long distances towards smaller communities, crossing streams along the way. An Arame map poster reflects this contrast between the tight urban grid and the vast open territory surrounding it.

Roads outward
A few main roads leave town in different directions, drawing long lines across the surrounding countryside towards neighbouring municipalities.
Open interior
Much of the land around Arame is pasture, forest and farmland, so the map is dominated by open space with only scattered tracks and streams.
