Badin is in the southeast of Sindh province in Pakistan, on the low, flat plain east of the Indus delta and not far from the Arabian Sea. On a map the town is compact. It has a dense core of narrow streets and small blocks, and roads spread out from it into the countryside.
The land around Badin is shaped by water. Irrigation canals and drains cross the plain in long straight lines and gentle curves, dividing it into fields. Further south, the land becomes wetland and salt flats towards the coast and the Rann of Kutch. The district is also one of Pakistan's oil and gas producing areas, though the fields are spread out over the rural land.

Irrigation canals
Canals and drainage channels cross the land around the town in long lines. They divide the farmland and provide the main structure of the map.
Low delta plain
The land is almost completely flat, with fields reaching to the horizon and wetlands to the south. This gives the edges of the map a quiet, even pattern.
