Baghlān Map Poster & Print
Baghlān lies in northern Afghanistan in the valley of the Kunduz River, north of Pul-i-Khumri, where the Hindu Kush foothills open onto a broader agricultural plain. From above the town appears as a loose network of streets beside the river, surrounded by irrigated fields and canals.
The plain around Baghlān has long been farmed, and the district became known in the twentieth century for sugar-beet cultivation and sugar processing. The main road between Kabul and the northern provinces passes nearby, and the town has served as a trading and administrative centre for the surrounding countryside.
A Baghlān map poster is mostly land and water rather than dense streets. The river winds through the valley, irrigation channels and field boundaries form fine lines around it, and the town's roads meet at a few central junctions. The result is an open, delicate print with a strong sense of landscape.
