Its streets are a mix of older straight roads and later curving crescents and courts, laid out as the suburb filled in during the postwar decades.
The northern edge is the clearest line on the map. The Eastern Freeway runs along the Koonung Creek corridor, a long green strip with a shared trail that separates Balwyn North from Doncaster.
