Irregular lanes
Between the main roads, short lanes bend around compounds and open yards. On paper they form an uneven, hand-drawn texture that is quite unlike a planned street grid.
Open edges
At the edge of town the line work fades into tracks and empty space. That blank margin is part of the image and frames the settlement as a small, self-contained place.
