Bedford sits in the Mid-Cities, the band of suburbs between Dallas and Fort Worth, and together with Hurst and Euless it forms the area locals call HEB. From above it is a tidy patchwork: arterial roads on a rough mile grid, and inside each square a looser pattern of curving streets, cul-de-sacs and small parks.
Highways cross and border the city, among them the Airport Freeway, which leads east toward Dallas Fort Worth International Airport a short drive away.
