The Oka River
The river runs past the town in a wide curve, with a flat floodplain on one side and the rising bank where the historic centre was built on the other.

Belëv Map Poster & Print
Belëv stands on the Oka River in the southwest of Tula Oblast, one of the older towns of central Russia, with a first mention in the chronicles in 1147. From above, the river dominates: it curves past the town, and the streets climb from the low floodplain onto the higher bank, cut here and there by ravines.
The town is known in Russia for Belëv pastila, a light baked apple confection made here since the nineteenth century. The poet Vasily Zhukovsky was born in the village of Mishenskoye nearby. The historic centre keeps a traditional provincial layout, with churches and old merchant streets near the river.
A Belëv map poster pairs a broad river with a small, well-structured town. The Oka's curve gives the composition its main line, the ravines break the street pattern into pieces, and the old centre forms a clear core. In black and white, it looks like a quiet page from an old atlas.

Ravines and slopes
Gullies cut into the high bank and divide the street pattern, so the town reads as a series of connected districts instead of one continuous grid.
Historic centre
The oldest streets gather near the river, a compact provincial core that has kept its basic shape through centuries of change.

དོན་དག་ཡོད་པའི་ས་ཁྲ།
Belëv is a town people connect with childhood summers, grandparents and the view over the Oka. A map of its river bend and old streets keeps that memory specific, not just a general picture of the Russian countryside.
Edit the title and subtitle, for instance with a family name or the year you were there, and choose from five styles. Paper and Classic black & white bring out the river and ravines with particular clarity.
