Beri Khās sits in Jhajjar district of Haryana, on the wide, level plain west of the Delhi region. From above the pattern is clear. A compact core of tightly packed lanes is surrounded on every side by farmland divided into long rectangles. Roads leave the town in almost straight lines toward the surrounding villages, and the core looks like a small knot where they all meet.
The town is known across the region for the temple of Bhimeshwari Devi, which draws pilgrims from all over Haryana and beyond. On the map, though, the religious centre sits inside the ordinary grain of the town, among narrow streets, small squares and the edges of ponds and open ground that old Haryana settlements tend to keep close by.

Radiating roads
Several roads leave the town almost straight, linking it to nearby villages and district towns. They split the surrounding fields into large wedges that are easy to read from a distance.
Field geometry
Beyond the houses, the flat plain is cut into long rectangular plots and farm tracks. This gives a fine, regular texture that contrasts with the irregular streets of the core.
