Bhanga Map Poster & Print
Bhanga lies in Faridpur District, on the low, fertile delta land of central Bangladesh south-west of the Padma. The area is crossed by rivers and channels, and the older town grew along the water. From above, the traditional centre is a dense patch of lanes and markets, surrounded by villages, fields, ponds and trees scattered across flat land.
In recent years Bhanga has become known as a transport hub. The expressway from Dhaka via the Padma Bridge reaches the town and branches here towards the south-west, meeting at a large interchange whose loops and ramps stand out clearly on any map. A new railway line built with the Padma Bridge also passes through, linking the town more closely with the capital.
A Bhanga map poster shows the contrast between the old riverside town and the bold new infrastructure. The tight lanes of the centre sit beside the wide sweeping curves of the interchange, with fields and waterways all around. In black and white the combination makes a striking and unusual composition.

Riverside old town
The older market area grew beside the water, with narrow lanes and close-set buildings forming the dense heart of Bhanga.
Delta villages
Around the town, villages, ponds and fields fill the flat land, making a scattered, fine-grained pattern across the rest of the map.

For people from Bhanga, the map shows a town in transition: the familiar old centre and the new roads that have brought it much closer to Dhaka. It makes a good gift for family, especially those who remember the town before the bridge.
