Linear main street
One long road runs the length of the valley, and nearly the entire town arranges itself along it, giving Bielawa its distinctive stretched outline.

Bielawa Map Poster & Print
Bielawa lies in Lower Silesia, at the northern foot of the Owl Mountains. Its shape on a map is unusual: rather than a round centre, the town stretches along a valley for several kilometres, following a stream down from the hills, with houses and streets strung along one long main road.
The town developed as a textile centre, and former mills and workers' housing still mark parts of the valley. To the south, the land rises into forested slopes of the Owl Mountains, and the upper end of town gives way to woodland and hiking trails, while the lower end opens onto farmland.
A Bielawa map poster captures this elongated form: a single dominant line of the main street, side lanes branching out, and the green mass of the mountains at one end. In black and white, it reads like a diagram of how a mountain valley town grows.

Owl Mountains edge
Forested slopes rise at the southern end, appearing on the map as a wide, quiet area where streets stop and trails begin.
Valley stream
The stream running down through town follows the main street, a thin line that explains why the settlement grew in such a narrow shape.
