Biltine Map Poster & Print
Biltine is the capital of the Wadi Fira province in eastern Chad, in the Sahel zone between the Sahara to the north and wetter savanna to the south. The landscape is dry for much of the year, and on a map the town appears as a concentrated cluster of streets surrounded by very open land.
The urban layout is simple, with a centre where administrative buildings and markets gather and residential quarters arranged in blocks around it. Seasonal watercourses, or wadis, cross the surrounding terrain, carrying water only during the brief rainy season and otherwise showing as faint lines across the land.
A Biltine map poster emphasises the relationship between a small regional capital and the vast space around it. That emptiness is part of the design: the town sits in the middle of the sheet like a small, carefully drawn pattern in a wide field.

Seasonal wadis
Dry riverbeds cross the surrounding land, filling only in the rainy season and appearing as faint, meandering lines around the town.
Sahel openness
Beyond the built-up area, the land is largely empty on the map, creating generous negative space that frames the compact town.

For people from Wadi Fira and eastern Chad, Biltine is a place rarely seen on printed maps. A poster gives it the attention it deserves and keeps the shape of home close, wherever someone now lives.
Add a title, subtitle and date, and edit the coordinates. Choose from Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand suits the Sahel landscape particularly well. Download the $9 HD files or order a printed poster.
