Bougadoum Map Poster & Print
Bougadoum is located in Hodh Ech Chargui, the easternmost region of Mauritania, in the Sahel zone between the Sahara and the savannah. The land here is flat and dry for much of the year, and settlements appear on the map as compact clusters in a wide, largely empty landscape.
Life in the region has long been tied to herding and seasonal agriculture, and communities are linked by tracks rather than dense road networks. The map of Bougadoum reflects this: a core of sandy lanes and compounds, surrounded by open ground crossed by paths towards neighbouring villages and grazing land.
A Bougadoum map poster works as a study in space and restraint. The small, irregular cluster of streets sits within a wide margin of white, making a print that is spare, calm and unlike the dense maps of larger cities.

Tracks outward
Thin tracks lead away from the settlement towards other villages and grazing areas, stitching Bougadoum into the wider region.
