Boukoumbé Map Poster & Print
Boukoumbé lies in the Atakora department of northwestern Benin, close to the border with Togo and among the hills of the Atakora range. The town is small and informally laid out. From above it looks like a cluster of streets and compounds where roads cross, with open savanna and farmland all around.
The area is home to the Batammariba people, known for the tata, two-storey earthen tower houses built as fortified family homes. Across the border in Togo, the same landscape, known as Koutammakou, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On the Benin side, the tata remain a strong part of local identity.
A Boukoumbé map poster shows a landscape of scattered settlement rather than a dense town: a modest centre, then paths and tracks reaching out to farmsteads spread across the land. The effect on the page is light and airy, and the hills add broad open space toward the edges.

Dispersed farmsteads
The tata homes stand apart from one another among the fields, so the surrounding map is a web of paths linking scattered compounds, not a grid of streets.
Atakora hills
The hills of the range rise around the town, leaving broad areas without roads that give the composition space and a sense of terrain.

དོན་དག་ཡོད་པའི་ས་ཁྲ།
Boukoumbé is a rare subject for a wall map, and that is part of its appeal. Its spare pattern of paths and homesteads records a distinctive way of living on the land, and it suits anyone with ties to northern Benin.
Personalise the title and subtitle, keep the coordinates line or replace it, and choose from five styles. Paper and Sand bring a warm, earthy tone, Noir and Classic black & white keep the lines crisp, and Blueprint offers a cooler alternative.
