River through town
The Carangola River runs through the valley and sets the direction of the town, with the main streets and blocks drawn along its course rather than across it.

Carangola Map Poster & Print
Carangola lies in the Zona da Mata of eastern Minas Gerais, close to where the state meets Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo. From above, water and relief shape the town. The Carangola River winds through the valley, and the streets follow it, filling the flatter ground and thinning out where the hills begin to rise. The built-up area is long and narrow, set by the land rather than by any plan.
The surrounding country is a sequence of rounded ridges and tight valleys, long given over to coffee and cattle. On a map this gives the centre a compact, irregular form rather than a strict grid. Roads branch up side valleys, and rural lanes fade into open land. The contrast between dense blocks and empty hillside is what gives the drawing its character.
A Carangola map poster keeps that relationship between river, street and slope in clean black lines. There is no terrain shading, yet the way the roads bend and bunch tells you a good deal about the ground beneath them. For anyone who grew up here or has family in the Zona da Mata, it is a quiet, recognisable picture of home.

Streets shaped by slopes
Where the ground rises, the street pattern loosens and curves, so the hills are readable on the poster even though no contour lines are drawn.
Edge of farmland
Beyond the last blocks, the map opens into sparse rural roads, a reminder of the coffee and cattle country that surrounds the town on every side.

དོན་དག་ཡོད་པའི་ས་ཁྲ།
This is a map people hang for the details only they can find: the street of a childhood house, the bridge crossed every morning, the road toward the next town. The title can read Carangola or a family name, with a date or the coordinates in the lines beneath.
There are five styles to choose from: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. The $9 digital download covers six print sizes as 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF files, or you can order a matte printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
