Casilda Map Poster & Print
Casilda lies in the south of Santa Fe province, in the heart of the Argentine pampas, west of Rosario. From above, it is almost a textbook example of a pampas town: a square grid of blocks set on completely flat farmland, with a main plaza at the centre and streets running at perfect right angles in every direction.
The town grew in the late nineteenth century as an agricultural colony, and the railway played a key role in its development. Rail lines cross the grid at an angle, cutting a diagonal through the otherwise regular pattern. Beyond the edge of town, the land opens into a patchwork of rectangular fields separated by straight rural roads.
A Casilda map poster reflects the logic of the pampas: order, repetition and horizon. In black and white, the grid reads almost like a piece of graph paper, broken only by the railway and the edges where the town gives way to fields. For people from Casilda, it is an instantly recognisable shape.

Railway diagonal
Railway lines cut across the grid at an angle, the one strong diagonal in a town otherwise built entirely on right angles.
Pampas fields
Rectangular fields and straight roads surround the town, extending the geometry of the grid into the open countryside.

དོན་དག་ཡོད་པའི་ས་ཁྲ།
People from Casilda carry a clear picture of its grid, its plaza and the fields around it wherever they go. A map poster puts that picture on the wall and makes a meaningful gift for someone who has moved away.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a family name or a significant year. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint suits the precise grid perfectly.
