The Oskol river and its floodplain cross the map as a broad band. They set the main direction of the settlement and give the poster a strong horizontal line.

Chernyanka Map Poster & Print
Chernyanka is an urban-type settlement in Belgorod Oblast in southwestern Russia, on the Oskol river. It lies in the black-earth region, a landscape of wide fields, gentle ridges and river valleys. The Oskol and its floodplain are the defining features of the map. The town sits along the valley and uses the higher ground beside the water.
The streets are long and mostly parallel. They run along the valley and form a loose grid of private houses with deep garden plots, a pattern common in southern Russian villages. The centre has a few larger buildings, and roads lead out across the open fields to neighbouring villages. Across the river, low wetlands and meadows appear as pale open space.
A Chernyanka map poster shows the classic layout of a steppe river town. It has a strong water line, long rows of streets along it and wide farmland all around. The simple, horizontal composition feels calm, and it records a settlement whose layout has followed the river for generations.

Long garden streets
Parallel streets are lined with houses on deep plots. This fine, repeating grid is characteristic of rural towns in the black-earth region.
Open fields
Beyond the last houses the map opens into wide farmland crossed by only a few roads. It frames the settlement with generous white space.
