Rounded historic core
The old centre is a compact cluster of narrow streets and small squares. It stands out clearly as the densest area on the map.

Chiari Map Poster & Print
Chiari lies on the flat plain of eastern Lombardy, in the province of Brescia, between the Oglio river and the city of Brescia itself. From above, the historic centre forms a tight, rounded knot of streets. Wider avenues roughly trace the line of the old town edge, and newer districts spread outward in every direction.
The town is known for its civic library and art collections, which were founded on a notable private bequest and are larger than you might expect in a place of this size. The railway between Milan and Venice passes through, adding a firm straight line along one side of the town.
A Chiari map poster brings out the classic pattern of a Po Valley town: a dense centre, a ring, and then a patchwork of fields crossed by irrigation channels and straight country roads. The contrast between the close-knit core and the open, ordered farmland is what makes it read well.

Ring of avenues
Broader roads loop around the centre roughly along the old town edge, separating the historic streets from the later neighbourhoods.
Railway line
The Milan–Venice line runs in a long, straight stroke past the town. It gives the composition a strong directional edge.

Chiari belongs to the people who grew up around its squares or commuted from it along the plain. A map of the town shows the familiar order of a Lombard centre in a way a photograph rarely does.
