Colonial grid
Streets form a largely regular pattern of square blocks, typical of Andean towns, giving the poster a clean and structured centre.

Chilca Map Poster & Print
Chilca is part of the Huancayo metropolitan area in the central Peruvian Andes, set in the Mantaro Valley at more than 3,000 metres above sea level. From above, its streets follow a mostly regular grid, a legacy of Spanish colonial planning that shapes much of the valley. On its edges, the pattern breaks up where the land begins to rise towards the surrounding hills.
The Mantaro Valley is one of the most productive farming areas in the Peruvian highlands, and Huancayo is its commercial centre. Chilca forms a busy southern part of that urban area, closely linked with the city centre. Rivers and streams run down from the mountains through the valley, and their courses show as curving lines against the straight streets.
A Chilca map poster captures a highland city at close range: a dense grid of blocks, a few diagonal roads and the first folds of the Andes at the margins. It is a map of altitude and order at once. For anyone from Huancayo or the wider Junín region, the pattern will feel familiar.

Mountain edge
Towards the outskirts, the grid gives way to winding roads and irregular plots where the valley floor meets steeper ground.
Valley streams
Watercourses descending from the Andes cut through the district, adding curved lines that contrast with the straight streets of the grid.

Chilca is a home district for many families in Huancayo, and a map of its blocks is a precise way to remember a street, a school or a family house in the Mantaro Valley.
You can change the title and subtitle, perhaps to a name or date, and keep the coordinates line. Five styles are available, from Classic black & white to the warm tones of Paper and Sand.
