Lake Vrana
This long freshwater lake lies in a hollow in the centre of the island. On the map it appears as a clean, narrow shape surrounded by land, which is unusual for such a dry island.

Cres Map Poster & Print
Cres is one of the two largest islands in the Adriatic and stretches a long way through Croatia's Kvarner Gulf. Its outline is long and slender, curving slightly along its length, with a steep, often bare coast. A single main road runs along the spine of the island, connecting a handful of towns and hilltop villages.
Near the middle of the island lies Lake Vrana, a freshwater lake whose deep basin reaches below sea level. It supplies drinking water to Cres and neighbouring Lošinj. The rocky highlands are also known for griffon vultures, which nest on the sea cliffs, and for long dry-stone walls that divide the sheep pastures.
A Cres map poster follows the island from its forested north to Osor in the south. At Osor, a narrow canal and a swing bridge separate Cres from Lošinj. The town of Cres sits in a sheltered bay on the west coast, and its compact harbour and old streets form the densest part of the design.

Osor canal
At the southern end, a narrow canal cuts through the land between Cres and Lošinj. A small swing bridge crosses it, a tiny detail that joins two islands on the map.
Cres town harbour
The island's main town curves around a deep, sheltered bay on the west coast. Its rounded harbour and tight grid of streets draw the eye in an otherwise sparse composition.

Cres appeals to anyone who has sailed the Kvarner, walked its pastures or spent a summer in its harbour towns. The long outline suits a tall portrait frame and looks restrained on a wall.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, for example with a sailing date or a family name. Five styles are available, from Classic black & white to Blueprint and Sand. Get it as a $9 digital download or as a printed poster shipped from a local partner.
