Dikhil Map Poster & Print
Dikhil is the capital of the Dikhil Region in the south-west of Djibouti, not far from the border with Ethiopia. The land around it is arid and rugged, with volcanic rock, dry wadis and wide open plains. On a map the town appears as a compact grid of streets and compounds surrounded by a vast stretch of almost empty ground.
Dikhil has long been a stopping point on routes between the coast and the interior. It is the main town on the road toward Lake Abbe, a salt lake known for its limestone chimneys and flamingos. It is also an administrative and market centre for the nomadic and herding communities in the surrounding area.
A Dikhil map poster makes a strong graphic statement because the surroundings are so empty. The town's streets form a small, dense pattern, the main roads draw a few long lines across the desert, and dry riverbeds add faint traces. The contrast between detail and emptiness gives the design its character.

Road to Lake Abbe
The route south-west toward Lake Abbe and the Ethiopian border leaves town as a long, clear line across the arid landscape.
Dry wadis
Seasonal watercourses cross the surrounding plain and carry water only after rare rains. On the map they appear as thin, branching lines.

དོན་དག་ཡོད་པའི་ས་ཁྲ།
For people from Dikhil living in Djibouti City or abroad, a map of the town is a personal link to a landscape very different from the coast. The spare design also appeals to travellers who crossed the region on the way to Lake Abbe.
The title, subtitle and coordinates can be personalised, and the poster comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. HD files cost $9, and a free watermarked preview is available first.
