Diriamba Map Poster & Print
Diriamba stands on the Carazo plateau in southwestern Nicaragua, on higher and cooler ground than the Pacific lowlands that fall away toward the coast. Its centre follows the Spanish colonial pattern: a regular grid of square blocks around a central park and church, with the streets gradually loosening toward the outskirts.
The town is closely associated with El Güegüense, the satirical street theatre and dance performed during the festivities of San Sebastián each January. UNESCO recognised it as part of the world's intangible cultural heritage in 2005. The region was also historically important for coffee growing on the plateau.
A Diriamba map poster shows the neat geometry of the old town and the roads leading out toward neighbouring Jinotepe and down to the Pacific beaches. The grid gives the print a strong, orderly rhythm, softened by the irregular growth at the edges of town.

Festival streets
The same central streets host the processions of San Sebastián and the El Güegüense performances, linking the map's plainest lines to the town's best-known tradition.
Roads to the coast
Routes run from the plateau down toward the Pacific shore, giving the map a sense of direction beyond the compact town centre.
