Douglasville lies west of Atlanta, along Interstate 20, in the rolling Piedmont country of Georgia. Its historic downtown follows the railroad line in a narrow, straight strip. The city is the seat of Douglas County, and it grew around the railroad in the late nineteenth century. Today it is a major suburb of metro Atlanta.
