Écija Map Poster & Print
Écija lies in the province of Seville in Andalusia, on the Genil River in the flat Guadalquivir countryside between Seville and Córdoba. From above, the old town forms a dense, irregular web of narrow streets and squares, bordered by the river and surrounded by wide fields of cereals and olives.
Écija is known as the city of towers, for the many Baroque church towers that rise above its roofs, and as the frying pan of Andalusia, for its intense summer heat. Its history reaches back to Roman Astigi, and palaces and churches from later centuries fill the centre, arranged around the Plaza de España.
An Écija map poster shows the compact, medieval pattern of the old town, the curve of the Genil and the long roads crossing the open plain. In monochrome, the dense centre stands out clearly against the countryside, giving the print a strong, grounded composition.

The Genil River
The Genil runs along the edge of the town, its curving line and bridges marking the natural boundary of the historic centre on the map.
Plaza de España
The main square, known locally as El Salón, sits at the heart of the old town, an open space where many of the central streets converge.
