Streams through town
Several streams run through the centre and are crossed by many small bridges. Their winding lines are the most distinctive feature of the map.

Édessa Map Poster & Print
Édessa is the capital of the Pella regional unit in northern Greece. It sits on the edge of a plateau above the wide plain that stretches towards Thessaloniki. The town is best known for its water. Several streams flow through the centre, and at the edge of the plateau they drop over waterfalls, the largest of which, Karanos, is among the best-known in Greece.
The map shows this clearly. Small watercourses wind through the streets, crossed by short bridges, and parks follow their banks. The dense centre runs right up to the edge of the escarpment. Below it, the land falls away, and the drawing opens out into the orchards and roads of the plain, a clear line between upper and lower ground.
An Édessa map poster suits people from the town and the Pella area, visitors who remember the sound of the falls, and anyone who likes places where water and streets meet. In black and white, the winding streams and the plateau edge make an unusually lively composition.

Waterfall escarpment
The town ends at the edge of a steep drop, where the water falls to the plain. The waterfalls are the town's best-known sight.
Plain below
Below the escarpment, the drawing opens into orchards and roads. The contrast with the dense town above is easy to read.
