Gulf of Suez shore
The coastline runs almost straight along the western edge of the town. The sea forms a large, calm area of tone on one side of the frame.

El-Tor Map Poster & Print
El-Tor, also known as Tor or Al-Tur, is the capital of Egypt's South Sinai Governorate. It is on the western coast of the peninsula, facing the Gulf of Suez. On the map the town is a compact grid along the shoreline, backed by a wide, empty coastal plain. Far inland, the high granite mountains of southern Sinai rise.
Its harbour has been in use for a very long time. For centuries, El-Tor was a stop for ships on the Red Sea route, and in more recent history it served as a quarantine station for pilgrims travelling to and from Mecca. Nearby lies the Hammam Musa hot springs, surrounded by palm groves.
An El-Tor map poster shows its simple, bold geography. A straight coastline, a tidy town plan, a few roads leading into the desert, and a large expanse of open ground create a composition that is mostly space, which suits the minimalist style.

Open coastal plain
Behind the town, the desert plain stretches inland with only a few roads crossing it. This emptiness gives the map a spare, quiet balance.
Harbour and palms
Near the old harbour and the palm groves toward the hot springs, the street pattern becomes denser before it opens up again into the plain.

El-Tor is a place people come back to: divers, pilgrims, engineers from the Gulf's oil fields, and families from the town itself. A poster that shows the coast, the plain and the town grid is a calm reminder of southern Sinai.
