Rocky hills
Outcrops and ridges shape the settlement. The roads bend to avoid them, and the hills leave natural gaps in the map that give the design a relaxed rhythm.

Gabane Map Poster & Print
Gabane is a large village in the Kweneng District of Botswana, a short drive west of the capital, Gaborone. The ground here is broken by low rocky hills, and the settlement has spread across the valleys and slopes between them rather than following a single plan. As Gaborone has grown, Gabane has increasingly become a place where people live and commute from.
Seen from above, the pattern is loose and organic. Tracks and minor roads curve around outcrops, plots are scattered at varying densities, and a few main routes carry traffic towards the city. A Gabane map poster captures that openness. It is less about a dense web of streets than about how a settlement fits itself into a landscape.
The village is known within Botswana for its craft workshops, pottery in particular, which draw visitors out from the capital. Beyond that, Gabane is defined by everyday life: family compounds, schools, churches and the hills that frame almost every view from its roads.

Winding local roads
Instead of a grid, Gabane has curving tracks and lanes linking clusters of homes. On paper this creates a fine, irregular pattern with a hand-drawn feel.
Road to Gaborone
A main road runs east towards the capital. It is the clearest single line in the composition and a reminder of how closely the village is now tied to the city.
