The stream divides into several braided channels near town, drawn as fine interlacing lines that give the poster its most distinctive and delicate texture.

Ganderbal Map Poster & Print
Ganderbal lies a short distance north of Srinagar, where the Sindh valley opens out onto the wide floor of the Kashmir valley. The Sindh, a fast stream fed by Himalayan snow, divides into several channels here, and from above the town appears among braided water, fields and orchards rather than as a sharp, dense block of streets.
The main road through Ganderbal is the route toward Sonamarg and, beyond, the Zoji La pass to Ladakh, and it forms the clear spine of the map. The wider district includes Manasbal Lake and the Kheer Bhawani temple at Tulmulla, both well known across Kashmir, which puts the town on many travellers' routes out of Srinagar.
A Ganderbal map poster renders the meeting of valley and plain in fine detail: the channels of the Sindh, the bridges that cross them, the road running up toward the mountains and the scattered pattern of homes among cultivated land. It is a map of water and movement, suited to anyone with roots or memories in this part of Kashmir.

Road to Sonamarg
The main highway heading north-east toward Sonamarg and Ladakh runs through town as a firm stroke, leading the eye from the plain toward the mountains.
Orchards and fields
Around the built-up areas, cultivated land with few roads leaves generous open space, letting the water and the main road stand out clearly.
