Ghanzi Map Poster & Print
Ghanzi is the main town of western Botswana, in the Kalahari. The land here is flat and sandy, and the map shows it clearly. A small built-up area with a loose street network sits at the centre, and long, straight roads run out across a landscape that is mostly open space. The Trans-Kalahari Highway connects the town to Namibia and to the rest of Botswana.
The area around Ghanzi is known for cattle ranching, with large farms spread across the Kalahari, and for San communities, whose culture and craft are closely tied to the region. On the map, the farmland appears as very wide spaces broken only by occasional tracks and boundaries, with the town as the main point of density.
A Ghanzi map poster is a study in scale and restraint. The streets of the town form a compact, slightly irregular cluster, and the roads cutting across the Kalahari give the composition long, strong lines. So much of the map is left empty that the few lines on it feel especially deliberate.

Town centre
The settled area is small and loosely laid out, with wide plots and a modest street grid. It is the densest part of an otherwise open map.
Kalahari ranchland
Large farms and open savanna surround the town in every direction. On the poster they appear as calm blank space that gives the town its sense of isolation.

Ghanzi is a place people remember, whether they grew up there, worked on the farms, or passed through on a journey across the Kalahari. A map of the town keeps that sense of distance and open sky on the wall.
