Hlohovec Map Poster & Print
Hlohovec stands on the Váh, Slovakia's longest river, where the last foothills of the Považský Inovec meet the flat farmland of the Danubian lowland. On a map the town is framed by these two landscapes. The river runs past on one side, and on the other a wooded rise topped by the castle and its grounds looks down over the old centre.
The castle, rebuilt over the centuries into a stately residence, is surrounded by a large park, and in its grounds stands an Empire-style theatre, among the oldest in Slovakia. Below it the historic core keeps an irregular street plan around a central square and a Franciscan monastery. Later housing and industrial districts spread out across the plain.
A Hlohovec map poster holds these elements in balance: the soft mass of the castle grounds, the dense older streets, the bridges and the long line of the Váh. It is a small town with a clearly readable structure, which is exactly what makes it work so well as a black-and-white composition on the wall.

The Váh river
The broad river and its bridges run past the town, drawing a strong line between Hlohovec and the flat fields and settlements across the water.
Historic core
The streets below the castle keep their older, irregular pattern around the main square, a clear contrast to the regular blocks of the newer districts.

དོན་དག་ཡོད་པའི་ས་ཁྲ།
Hlohovec has a compact, recognisable form, with the castle above and the river alongside, and people who grew up or studied there often want exactly that on the wall. The map also appeals to anyone drawn to Central European towns where the medieval layout still shows through.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, then choose one of five styles. Paper and Sand suit a castle town particularly well. The $9 download includes six sizes as 300 DPI PNG and PDF files, and printed posters come with an optional wooden frame.
