Hyères Map Poster & Print
Hyères is one of the oldest resorts on the French Riviera. Nineteenth-century visitors came here for the winter long before Cannes and Nice became fashionable. The medieval town climbs a hill topped by the ruins of a castle. The newer town spreads across the plain toward the coast, laid out with wide avenues and gardens.
South of town, the Giens peninsula is joined to the mainland by a double tombolo: two narrow strips of sand that enclose salt pans and a shallow lagoon. The formation is rare and gives Hyères one of the most distinctive coastlines in France. Offshore lie the Îles d'Hyères, including Porquerolles and Port-Cros.
A Hyères map poster makes the most of this variety. The tight, climbing lanes of the old town sit at the top, the grid of the modern town fills the middle, and the tombolo stretches out below like two parallel lines drawn across the sea. The whole composition reads almost like a diagram of the coast.

Medieval hilltop
The old town rises in tight lanes and stairways toward the castle ruins. This dense, irregular cluster contrasts with the broader streets below.
Islands offshore
Porquerolles and Port-Cros lie off the coast. With a wider frame they can be included as clean island outlines in open water.

Hyères is a place of long summers, sailing trips and family holidays, and its coastline is easy to recognise once you know it. A print of the tombolo and the old town keeps that shape on the wall all year, well after the season has ended.
Use the title, subtitle and coordinates line for the dates of a stay or the name of a favourite beach. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand suits the salt marshes and beaches, and Blueprint suits the sailing harbour.
