São Francisco River
The wide river fills much of the map. Its sandbanks and islands are drawn as soft shapes, giving the poster the feel of a river chart as much as a town plan.

Ibotirama Map Poster & Print
Ibotirama sits on the banks of the São Francisco, one of Brazil's great rivers, in the semi-arid interior of Bahia. On a map the river is the dominant element: a wide band of water with sandbanks and islands, bending past the town, with the urban grid pressed against its bank. Across the water, flatter land with scattered farms stretches toward the horizon.
The town is an important crossing point. The BR-242 highway, which links coastal Bahia with the west of the state, crosses the São Francisco here on a long bridge, and much of the town's traffic and trade depends on that route. The riverfront has long been a place for fishing, boats and small trade along the water.
Life in Ibotirama follows the rhythm of the river, from its seasonal rise and fall to the fishing traditions of the Velho Chico, as the São Francisco is affectionately called. An Ibotirama map poster shows that relationship clearly: a compact grid, a wide river and a single bridge joining the two banks.

BR-242 bridge
A long road bridge carries the BR-242 across the São Francisco. This single straight line over open water marks a key crossing in the Bahian interior.
Riverside grid
The town's streets form a compact grid along the bank, and the riverfront marks a clear edge between the city and the water.

For people from the middle São Francisco valley, or anyone who has crossed this bridge on a long drive across Bahia, Ibotirama is a place defined by water. Personalise the title and subtitle with a family name, a date or a line about the river, and keep the coordinates line.
Blueprint and Noir bring out the great width of the river, Sand and Paper give it the warmth of the sertão, and Classic black & white stays clean and neutral. Download six print sizes for $9 without a watermark, or order a matte poster, framed if you like.
