Itiúba Map Poster & Print
Itiúba lies in the interior of Bahia, in the semi-arid region of northeastern Brazil known as the sertão. The town sits near the Serra de Itiúba, a range of hills that rises above the surrounding plains, and on a map the built area appears as a compact cluster of streets at the foot of higher ground, with roads leading off into the dry countryside.
The municipality covers a large, lightly populated area, and much of its population lives in rural communities spread across it. The town centre itself follows a simple layout, with a main square and a modest grid of streets around it, typical of small towns in the region.
An Itiúba map poster brings out the relationship between the town and its landscape: the dense core, the roads branching out, and the sense of open land all around. It is an understated image, but for those from the sertão it carries a strong feeling of place.
