Izobil’nyy Map Poster & Print
Izobil’nyy is a town in the north-west of Stavropol Krai in southern Russia, set in open steppe country that has long been farmed. Its map is laid out in a clear rectilinear pattern, with long straight streets and rectangular blocks of low-rise houses and gardens.
A railway line crosses the town, and the main roads extend outward toward neighbouring settlements across a landscape of large, regular fields. Small rivers and ponds break up the grid in a few places, adding softer shapes to an otherwise very orderly plan.
The town's name, which means abundant, reflects the agricultural character of the surrounding land, and the district is also associated with energy production, including a large power station in the area. A Izobil’nyy map poster shows a typical southern Russian town at its clearest: straight lines on a wide, open plain.
