Kahuta is a town in Rawalpindi district, Punjab, Pakistan, in the foothills that rise east of Rawalpindi and Islamabad toward the Murree hills. From above, the terrain shapes everything. The town serves as the administrative centre of its tehsil and as a market town for the surrounding hill villages. It is known nationally for the research laboratories located in the area.
