Kangle Map Poster & Print
Kangle is a town in the eastern part of Chongqing municipality, in the rugged country around the Yangtze's Three Gorges region. The terrain dominates the map. Hills rise quickly on all sides, and the town fits into the lower, flatter ground between them.
From above, the roads bend instead of running straight. They follow contour lines, loop back on themselves to climb, and meet in the valley where the buildings cluster most closely. Farm terraces and scattered hamlets cover the slopes, each reached by its own winding lane.
A Kangle map poster turns this terrain into line work. With no real grid, the streets take on the shape of the land, and the drawing looks almost like handwriting across the page. It is a good example of how mountains shape a settlement in this part of China.

The densest part of town sits on the lowest, flattest ground, where most of the routes come together.
Scattered hill hamlets
Small settlements are dotted across the slopes, each linked by thin lanes that spread outward from the town.
