Seventy-Five Mile Beach
The eastern coast runs as one long, gently curving beach. It is used as a road, so the shoreline itself becomes the island's main route.

K'gari Map Poster & Print
K'gari, known for many years as Fraser Island, lies off the coast of Queensland and is the largest sand island in the world. In 2023 its name was officially restored to K'gari, the name used by the Butchulla people, its traditional owners. The island has been on the World Heritage List since 1992 for its unusual mix of dunes, rainforest growing on sand and freshwater lakes.
From above the island is long and narrow, running parallel to the mainland. Its eastern side is one almost straight ocean beach, known as Seventy-Five Mile Beach, which also serves as a road for four-wheel-drive vehicles. The western side faces the calmer waters of the Great Sandy Strait, with mangroves, sand spits and a more broken coastline.
A K'gari map poster also picks up the lakes scattered across the interior. Many are perched lakes, held above the water table in hollows between dunes, such as Lake McKenzie with its white sand and clear water. Sand tracks link them through the forest, forming a delicate network that contrasts with the long, clean line of the eastern shore.

Perched lakes
Freshwater lakes sit in hollows among the dunes across the interior, appearing as scattered rounded shapes in the middle of the island.
Great Sandy Strait
On the western side, a sheltered strait separates the island from the mainland, with sandbanks, mangroves and a more intricate coastline.

དོན་དག་ཡོད་པའི་ས་ཁྲ།
K'gari holds memories of camping trips, beach drives and swims in clear lakes for many Australians and visitors. The long, narrow shape suits a tall portrait print, and the scattered lakes give the map detail without clutter.
Add a trip, a campsite or a date to the title and subtitle, edit the coordinates line, and pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand is a natural fit for an island built from it.
