Compact desert town
The built-up area is tightly packed, a small dense shape in the centre of the map that stands out sharply against the empty land.

Kharan Map Poster & Print
Kharan lies in western Balochistan, at the edge of the Kharan Desert, a broad expanse of sand dunes and dry plains. The landscape around the town is harsh and open, bordered by ranges of bare hills. On a map, Kharan appears as a compact settlement with its streets gathered close together, surrounded by a vast area of sparse lines and empty space.
The town was once the capital of the princely state of Kharan, which later became part of Pakistan. The old centre and its fort area remain the core of the settlement. Around the town, cultivated patches depend on scarce water, and roads stretch long distances across the desert to other towns in the province.
A Kharan map poster is a study in contrast: a dense cluster of streets in the middle of wide, empty land. The few roads that cross the desert and the traces of dry streambeds give the margins a subtle texture.

Kharan Desert
Sand plains and dunes extend around the town, leaving wide open spaces in the poster that are marked only by faint tracks.
Long desert roads
A few routes cross the desert towards other towns in Balochistan, long lines that emphasise the distances in this landscape.

For people from Kharan, or with family roots in Balochistan, a map of the town captures a place defined by its isolation and its desert setting. The stark composition also works well as a graphic print.
Choose your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, and one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand is a natural fit for the desert around the town.
