Kualakapuas is the main town of Kapuas Regency in Central Kalimantan, on the island of Borneo. It lies in the lowlands close to the southern coast, where rivers run slowly toward the Java Sea. The ground around the town is flat and often wet, and the region is known for peat and swamp land crossed by rivers and channels.
