Kurye Map Poster & Print
Kurye, more commonly spelled Gurye, is a county town in Jeollanam-do in the south-west of South Korea. It lies in a basin between the Seomjin River and the southern slopes of Jirisan, the mountain massif that forms the core of Korea's first national park. On a map, the town is a compact cluster on the flat valley floor, closely framed by high ground.
The area is known for Hwaeomsa, one of Korea's major Buddhist temples, in a valley on the mountain's flanks. It is also known for its spring festival of sansuyu, or cornelian cherry, whose yellow blossom covers the villages nearby. The Seomjin River runs along the southern side of the valley, and farmland fills the flat ground between the town and the hills.
A Kurye map poster sets a tidy grid of streets inside a much larger natural frame. The river gives a soft, winding line, the valley roads spread out from the town, and the mountain slopes empty the map towards its edges. It is a composition defined more by landscape than by the town itself.

Jirisan's slopes
To the north, the land rises into the Jirisan massif. Roads become sparse and winding, and wide open space frames the compact town below.
Valley-floor grid
The town centre sits on flat land in a fairly regular pattern of streets, a neat core inside the irregular mountain setting.

Kurye draws hikers, temple visitors and people who come back every spring for the blossom. A map poster links those memories to one clean image of the valley, the river and the mountain.
Add your own title and subtitle, perhaps in Hangul, and keep or change the coordinates. The design comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Buy it as a $9 HD file set or a printed poster.
