Pivot fields
Irrigated farms appear as near-perfect circles around the town, a bold graphic pattern that looks especially strong in the Sand and Noir styles.

Laylá Map Poster & Print
Laylá is the main town of the Al-Aflaj governorate, south of Riyadh in the interior of Saudi Arabia. It stands in open, arid country, and from above the contrast is striking: a network of streets and walled compounds, palm groves in darker patches and, around them, farmland laid out in the circular shapes of pivot irrigation.
The area takes its name from its aflaj, the old irrigation channels that once carried water to the fields, and it is also remembered for the lakes of Laylá, a group of spring-fed pools that were an unusual sight in the desert before heavy groundwater use caused them to dry up. Their story is a quiet chapter in the modern history of water in Arabia.
A Laylá map poster suits people from Al-Aflaj, those who have worked in the region and anyone drawn to the geometry of desert settlement. Straight highways cross the plain toward Riyadh and the south, and the farms around the town give the print a rhythm of circles and rectangles that feels closer to modern art than to a road map.

Palm groves
Older date plantations sit close to the town in irregular plots, a denser texture that records the oasis agriculture practised long before modern irrigation.
Desert highways
Long straight roads leave the town across the open plain, the dominant lines in a landscape where there is little else to interrupt them.
