Old village core
The original centre of Le Pontet is small and tightly built. Its cluster of short streets is the oldest and most intricate part of the map.

Le Pontet Map Poster & Print
Le Pontet lies on the northeastern edge of Avignon, in the Vaucluse department, and on a map the two run into each other with no gap between them. It is a town of the lower Rhône valley, flat and low-lying. Rivers, orchards and market gardens shaped the landscape for a long time, and roads, housing and commercial development have shaped it more recently.
The street pattern mixes different eras. A small old village core sits among later housing estates laid out in loops and cul-de-sacs, while large retail and business zones appear as broad blocks with wide roads and car parks. Major roads and a railway line pass through the commune, linking Avignon with the towns to the north and east.
A Le Pontet map poster tells the story of how towns grow around a historic city: a small centre first, then decades of expansion along the roads. The texture changes clearly across the print, from fine residential streets to the large shapes of shops and transport, and that gives the composition surprising variety. Avignon, with its papal palace and famous bridge, is only a few kilometres away.

Suburban loops
Residential neighbourhoods are laid out in curving streets and dead ends, a pattern typical of later suburban growth. It gives large parts of the map a softer texture.
Road and rail corridors
Major roads and a railway pass through the commune, cutting long lines across the plain and connecting the town with Avignon and the rest of the Rhône valley.

Many people know Le Pontet as the place where they bought a first house or raised a family on the edge of Avignon. A map of the town treats that ordinary, lived-in geography with care and makes an honest, personal piece for the wall.
