Libenge is a town in the Sud-Ubangi province in the far north-west of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It sits on the Ubangi River, which here forms the border with the Central African Republic. On a map the river dominates: a broad band of water with islands and sandbanks, and the town arranged along its bank.
The streets run back from the riverfront in a simple pattern, with the main roads linking the town to the interior.
