Main routes bend around hills and along valley floors, producing long, flowing curves in place of straight urban lines.

Lirang Map Poster & Print
Lirang lies in the hilly country of the Chongqing municipality, on the eastern side of the Sichuan Basin. This is a landscape of rounded ridges and folded valleys, with little level ground, and the map reflects this. Roads curve constantly, following the contours rather than cutting straight across.
The town's built area is modest and gathered where routes meet, while the surrounding land is intensively farmed. Terraced fields and scattered hamlets fill the slopes, connected by a fine net of lanes. From above, the result is a dense, rhythmic pattern of small curving lines covering the hills.
A Lirang map poster presents the character of rural Chongqing rather than its famous megacity. The composition is gentle and busy at once: a compact centre, main roads winding away, and farmland lanes reaching into every corner of the frame.

Compact town core
The streets gather tightly where several roads meet, a small dense knot at the centre of a largely rural map.
Terraced hillsides
The slopes around the town are closely farmed and crossed by many narrow lanes, giving the whole print a fine, even texture.
