Highway spine
The Djibouti corridor runs straight through the town, the dominant line on the map and the reason the settlement exists where it does.

Logīya Map Poster & Print
Logīya grew along the main road that links Addis Ababa with the port of Djibouti, a route carrying much of Ethiopia's trade. From above, the town is a linear settlement: a band of compounds, workshops and roadside stops strung along the highway, with streets branching out only a short distance into the surrounding desert.
It lies only a few kilometres from Semera, the planned capital of the Afar Region, and the two places read on a map as neighbours along the same corridor. The Awash River valley lies close by, and where water reaches the land, cultivated strips stand out sharply against the pale, dry plain that covers most of this part of the Rift.
A Logīya map poster is a portrait of a crossroads in an extreme landscape. Its composition is simple, a strong highway line with a cluster of streets around it, and that simplicity is what makes it striking on a wall, especially when printed in the warmer Sand or Paper tones.

The regional capital lies close by, so a slightly wider frame shows both settlements along the same road across the desert plain.
Desert edges
Beyond the last streets the map empties into open ground, crossed only by tracks and dry channels, which gives the town a sharply defined outline.

For people who have worked along the Djibouti corridor, or who come from the Afar Region, this map records a place that few printed products ever show. Its spare composition also stands well on its own as a graphic image.
Change the title, subtitle and coordinates to mark a posting, a journey or a hometown, and choose one of five styles. Download the files for $9 or order a matte printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
