Mallawī Map Poster & Print
Mallawī lies in Minya Governorate in Middle Egypt, on the western side of the Nile Valley. Like most towns here it is hemmed in by agriculture. The built area is dense and compact, and around it spreads a fine mesh of irrigated fields, canals and village roads. The railway and the main road, both running north to south along the valley, pass right by the town.
The area around Mallawī is one of the richest in Egypt for archaeology. Across the Nile lies Tell el-Amarna, the capital founded by the pharaoh Akhenaten. To the northwest are the ruins of Hermopolis at al-Ashmunein and the necropolis of Tuna el-Gebel, and the town's museum holds finds from these sites.
A Mallawī map poster shows a working agricultural town in fine detail, with the Nile and its canals framing the streets. It will mean most to families from the town and to travellers who passed through on the way to the ancient sites, and who remember the green strip of the valley between the deserts on either side.

Irrigation network
Canals and field boundaries around the town create a fine, repeating pattern of lines, a quiet texture that fills the edges of the poster.
Valley corridor
The railway and main road run north to south beside the town, parallel to the Nile, tracing the long axis of the valley.

For Egyptians from Minya, Mallawī is a market town, a family home and a stop on the valley road. For travellers, it is the way into Amarna. The map holds both views in one calm composition.
