Plains grid
Straight roads cross the flat land at regular intervals, giving the map a calm, almost architectural structure. It is a pattern that prints especially well in thin black lines.

Maocun Map Poster & Print
Maocun sits in the north of Jiangsu province, in the broad lowland around Xuzhou, where the provinces of Jiangsu, Shandong, Henan and Anhui come close together. The land is almost level, and the map shows it. Roads run long and straight, and the town's blocks follow a mostly right-angled pattern that spreads across the plain with few interruptions.
Around the built-up area, the pattern changes texture rather than direction. Farm plots, irrigation channels and small villages fill the surroundings in fine rectangles, so the town appears as a denser patch within a larger, orderly field. Watercourses cross the plain in places and add the few diagonal lines on an otherwise gridded sheet.
The wider Xuzhou area has long been a junction of road and rail routes between north and south China, and on flat land like this those connections are easy to see. A Maocun map poster suits this understated setting. It is less about landmarks than about rhythm: the repeated geometry of roads and fields, drawn at a scale where their order becomes visible.

Field texture
Beyond the town, farmland breaks into narrow rectangular plots. At poster scale these become a fine, even texture that frames the denser streets in the centre.
Water lines
Channels and small waterways cut across the plain. They add the few curves and diagonals on the sheet and bring movement to an otherwise measured layout.

This is a map for people with a personal tie to Maocun or the Xuzhou area: those who grew up here, moved away for work, or have family on these plains. Its restraint also makes it an easy fit for minimal interiors.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line and pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. A free 900 px watermarked preview lets you check the composition before you buy the $9 HD files.
