Winding lanes
Roads follow the gentle terrain and property lines rather than a grid, curving and branching to reach houses spread among trees and gardens.

Martūru Map Poster & Print
Martūru lies in the Ernakulam area of central Kerala, in the low, well-watered country of the Periyar river basin. Unlike a compact town with a clear centre, the settlement spreads in a looser pattern, with houses set along winding roads and lanes among coconut palms, rubber plots and fields. From above, streets and waterways weave together into a fine, organic network.
This dispersed form is typical of Kerala, where villages and towns often blend into one another along roads rather than forming tight cores. The region lies within easy reach of Kochi and its airport, and small streams, canals and paddy land break up the built area throughout.
A Martūru map poster turns this soft, scattered pattern into something graphic. Curving roads, branching lanes and thin lines of water spread across the frame without a single dominant axis, creating a texture that feels almost botanical. In black and white, it becomes a calm and unusual print, very different from the gridded towns of other regions.

Water in the plain
Streams, channels and patches of paddy land cross the area, adding thin, meandering lines that thread through the settlement.
A dispersed pattern
There is no hard edge to the town; houses and lanes thin gradually into greenery, giving the whole map an even, textured surface.

For families from Martūru working in the Gulf, in Bengaluru or farther away, a map of home carries the shape of familiar roads and neighbours. It is a thoughtful gift for a new house or for parents back home.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, and select Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper suits Kerala's greenery with a softer tone, while Classic highlights the fine lattice of lanes.
