Expressway and railway
Road and rail lines run side by side through the hills, curving to follow the valleys and giving the map a strong diagonal flow across the sheet.

Maval Map Poster & Print
Maval is a taluka of Pune district in Maharashtra, on the high ground of the Sahyadri range, or Western Ghats, between Mumbai and Pune. On a map it is a landscape more than a single town: scattered settlements, winding roads and river valleys set among ridges, with the main transport routes squeezing through the gaps between the hills.
The Mumbai–Pune Expressway, the older highway and the railway all cross the area, running close together along the same corridor. Around them lie reservoirs such as Pavana Lake and hill forts including Lohagad and Visapur, while the rock-cut Buddhist caves at Karla and Bhaja are among the best-known sites of the region.
A Maval map poster has a different character from a city map. Instead of a dense grid, it shows the lines of expressway and rail bending through the terrain, the irregular shapes of lakes and reservoirs, and small settlements strung along the roads. It suits anyone who knows the route between Mumbai and Pune well.

Reservoirs and lakes
Pavana Lake and other bodies of water appear as broad, irregular shapes with branching arms, adding large solid forms that contrast with the thin lines of road.
Scattered settlements
Towns and villages sit along the main routes and in the valleys, so the map shows small clusters of streets separated by open, hilly ground rather than one continuous city.

Maval is for people who live in the area, travel the Mumbai–Pune route often, or spend monsoon weekends in the hills and at the lakes. The map records a familiar journey as much as a place.
