River Eye corridor
The Eye crosses the town from east to west, bordered by parkland and open ground, giving the print a clear green spine between the older centre and the southern streets.

Melton Mowbray Map Poster & Print
Melton Mowbray grew up where the River Eye crosses the rolling farmland of north-east Leicestershire. From above, the old market streets knot together north of the river, with St Mary's Church marking the centre, while the Eye and its green banks run east to west across the plan. Newer estates spread outward on every side, held in place by roads that radiate towards Leicester, Grantham and Oakham.
The town is best known for food. The Melton Mowbray pork pie has protected status, and Stilton cheese is made in the surrounding area, which is why the town calls itself a rural capital of food. For much of the nineteenth century it was also the centre of English fox hunting, and the open, hedged countryside that made it so still shows clearly on the map.
A Melton Mowbray map poster shows a town still shaped by its river and its market. Parks and playing fields along the Eye form a soft band through the middle, the old centre stays compact, and the network of country lanes fades out towards the villages. It suits anyone with a family link here, or simply a fondness for English market towns.

Market town core
Short, irregular streets around St Mary's Church and the market place form a dense cluster, an old pattern that still stands out against later housing.
Radiating roads
Main roads leave the centre like spokes towards neighbouring towns, giving the map a star-shaped structure that is softened by the gentle curve of the river.

དོན་དག་ཡོད་པའི་ས་ཁྲ།
Many people hang a Melton Mowbray map because the town is part of their family story, whether through farming, the cattle market or growing up near the river. For others it is a good-natured nod to the pork pie, framed in a way that looks considered rather than kitsch.
